Dogs have always been welcome here at The Guild, and this Wednesday was no different! This special edition ‘Cake Wednesday’ featured home baked cakes and treats, all in the name of ‘Bath Cats and Dogs Home

These delectable delights all came thanks to the lovely Cathrine Svendson from ‘Incognito Social’ accompanied by her cake baking apprentice Nikita (featured below getting a lot of attention, almost as much as the cakes!)

The coworking confectioneries available this week were peanut butter chocolate brownies (the recipe for which has already been requested by numerous members), lemon drizzle cake and carrot cake, and boy did they deliver! Particularly popular were the peanut butter chocolate brownies… But enough about the cakes!

The real reason our members eagerly advanced towards the front room was in order to help Cathrine’s cause in donating towards her Bath Half charity run, in aid of the Cats and Dogs home of Bath. The Bath Half Marathon is a two-lap, 13 mile course starting and finishing at Great Pulteney Street, taking place on the 1st of March. We spoke to Cathrine regarding her passion for the Cats and Dogs home

“It’s a charity very close to my heart. Several of my friends have dogs or cats from the home, and it’s been so heartwarming to watch their transformation from being scared of everyone and everything to loving, happy family members”

The Bath Cats and Dogs home  have a non-destruction policy and aim to find all animals a new home regardless of how long it takes – which is why they’re so reliant on charitable donations. If like our members you would like to contribute towards Cathrine’s run and help this charity to continue in re-homing these animals then check out Cathrine’s fundraising page.

From all of us here at The Guild, we would like to say a huge thank you to Cathrine and wish her the best of luck in her run!

For all of those who have got this far, here are the cakes in question…

Who could resist?!
