Bath has a long and exciting history of being a creative beacon in the south west, and this month’s Bath’s Life magazine is dedicated to celebrating this cities inspiring range of talents. After being contacted by Bath Life we put the opportunity out to the members of The Guild to explain how they turned their creative talents into thriving businesses and it’s great to see their responses in this months issue. Managing Director of content creation and marketing agency That Media Thing Ian Robson, highlights the passion and warmth Bath has for its diverse arts scene and how belonging to this community is important for his business. ‘It inspires people to want to live and work within their community with greater fervour and passion than anywhere else I’ve lived’.
Freshly Ground PR (pictured) also feature in this month’s issue. Having moved from Dorset just under a year ago, thier PR and marketing agency specializes in food, drink, lifestyle and all things artisan’. Director Amy Brice says their creativity comes from connecting inspiring individuals and brands with the people who would love to hear about them, ‘our creative input involves coming up with innovative ideas to get them the attention they deserve’.
Paul O’Gorman, one of our newest members discusses his company ‘DSGN ONE’, who represent Bath’s thriving digital sector. Keen to become a part of Baths community, Paul recently created a website for local charity BEMSCA (Bath Ethnic Minority Senior Citizens Association) and provides affordable web design packages to small and medium sized businesses in the local area.
Lawrence Tiley from Design for Digital Ltd, also highlights the importance of feeding back into the community. ‘Website technology is changing everyday and keeping up with the best practises can be tricky for smaller businesses’. Lawrence therefore offers monthly free ‘website surgeries’ here at The Guild for anyone seeking help with web and SME.
