On July 10th the Guild turned one (still can’t believe its been a year…where does the time go?) in the past year we’ve welcomed hundreds of people through the doors, met some amazing people and companies and welcomed coworkers.

Recently a few have moved on to as they now need their own office space, which believe it or not is great to see as the whole point of this space is to help people transition from small one man bands looking to get out of the house or coffee shop and into their own space, we have also though welcomed lots of new people on board recently (at the last count we’re now at 105 members) including one new team to the Guild ‘TechSPARK’ some of whom have been working out of the space since the beginning but under different guises. The team is made up of Jamie Middleton, Helen Fleming, Alice Whale, Josh Ryall and David Maher Roberts the aim of TechSPARK is to be the information hub for all things tech in Bristol, Bath and the West of England region.

The mission of TechSPARK is to showcase tech innovation and celebrate the companies and individuals who work in the industry, if you haven’t already check out their website http://techspark.co which should be the first place you go for all things tech here in the SW head here to find out the latest news, profiles on companies, event listings and jobs board. TechSPARK also run and manage event networks TechSPARK (Bristol) and BathSPARK (funnily enough Bath) the recent BathSPARK Summer Social saw 100 young techies meet up at Bath Brew House for drinks, burgers and light hearted ‘speed networking’ basically try and meet 5 new people in 30 mins! Both networks are hugely popular and immensely successful.

Its great to welcome the team on board and we look forward to welcoming the next new members too.
